Solid structures are important when it comes to building anything you want to last.
In the tale of the 3 Little Pigs we are taught that creating a poor infrastructure leaves us open and vulnerable to the "Big Bad Wolves" of the world. However, a solid, impenetrable structure makes us impervious to the winds blown by the wolves who seek to consume us.
Even the Bible talks about "The Man Who Built His House on the Rock vs The Man Who Built His House On the Sand". Guess who's house lasted longer and survived the winds of destruction? Yes…. The one with the solid infrastructure and foundation.
I think I have made my point.
Structure can mean the difference between SURVIVAL and OBLITERATION , SUCCESS and FAILURE.
People can structure their lives, careers, and businesses to succeed or fail the SAME WAY they can structure their homes to succeed or fail. When the storm arrives and tests your foundation and structure how will you fare? We can prevent A LOT of issues with proper structure both in our lives and businesses and as business owners much of our lives and how we live affects the success or failure of our business.
Now, I am a free spirit and there is something so fun and attractive about flying by the seat of my pants. It's fun, it's risky, and anyone who is a procrastinator, risk taker, and well… all around bad ass (like myself) knows how unappealing structure can be. Structure usually requires self discipline and self control…. Two words I despise!
However, between 2015 and 2016 I nearly QUADRUPLED my gross earnings by just implementing some simple structuring techniques that really benefited me and my business. The proof was right there in the numbers.
Thing 1:
I stopped making excuses and started making money. It sounds simple but there are so many blocks that keep us from sending an invoice. Once I got a solid process of onboarding, estimating, project planning, and billing together it was like the business started to run itself.
Thing 2:
I took meaningful steps to identify my target market and figure out where they were at and HOW I could fill the needs they had.
I know it seems absurd that this tattooed, wild-haired 30 something knows anything about ANYTHING let alone BUSINESS! But in one short year I turned my little side job that grossed about $20,000 in 2015 to nearly $80,000 in 2016 and we are still experiencing steady growth.
I want to share how I did that and I want to show you how you can succeed in WHATEVER it is you want to do in life.
